UWAMWIMA
UWAMWIMA is an association of fruit and vegetable farmers in Zanzibar.
UWAMWIMA was formed in 2004 by 15 small-scale vegetable growers in the Zanzibar West district and got its legal status on November 22, 2005. Today, UWAMWIMA has grown to 1,022 members. The members are organized into 37 farmer groups throughout the Zanzibar Archipelago. The majority of the members, more than 67%, are women.
